Welcome to MMF Hospitals Association’s Ratna Memorial Hospital​

Maharashtra Medical Foundation was established in 1978. The foundation received a donation from Dr. L. B. Joshi, F.R.C.S., of his Joshi Hospital (Est 1950) which led to the beginning of a new era of the already well-known “Joshi Hospital “.  A second hospital came into existence in 1991. Later MMF became ” MMF Hospitals Association.” It continues to manage the two well known hospitals in Pune, Joshi Hospital and Ratna Memorial Hospital. We are a renowned healthcare provider serving the needs of the people of Pune and its surrounding areas since 1991. With patient care as our top priority, the Hospital has earned a reputation as one of the most trusted and respected healthcare centers in the region. Shri M.S. Kanitkar donated his five plots on Senapati Bapat Road, Pune admeasuring 30,000 Sq. Ft to Maharashtra Medical Foundation (MMF).

1992

Maharashtra Medical Foundation (MMF) constructed a small unit in 1991. The hospital named Unit II was inaugurated on the auspicious day of “Gudi Padwa” on 17th March 1991.

Mr. Shankarlalji Tulshyan gave a donation for further growth of MMF Hospital Unit 2. On 28th June 1992 this hospital was renamed "Ratna Memorial Hospital" in memory of late Mrs. Ratna S. Tulshyan

Over The Year

Ratna Memorial Hospital (RMH) has grown from a 25-bedded general hospital into a leading 100-bedded multispecialty hospital, reflecting decades of commitment to quality healthcare and patient-centered services.

Our Wellwishers, patients and their families have made many donations from time to time. Their generosity is gratefully acknowledged by naming a room or a department according to the donor’s wish.

All except Dr. Telang (who was a student of Grant Medical College, Mumbai) were alumni of B. J. Medical College, Pune.

The seven Founder Trustees  were all Honorary Professors in their respective specialties at B. J. Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, Pune. They came together to form “Maharashtra Medical Foundation”,  a society registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, in 1978.  Dr. L. B. Joshi donated his hospital to the Foundation in 1978. The Foundation transitioned into ” MMF Hospitals Association ” in 2019. The Trustees were designated as Directors. 

MMF Hospitals Association has two hospitals in Pune; Joshi Hospital and Ratna Memorial Hospital.
